Abstract

This research proposal consists of the study and development of new methods for Power Systems real-time modeling, aiming to improve the Energy Management functions related to Security Analysis by means of the adequate modeling of non-monitored networks and the integration of Synchronized Phasor Measurements. A multi-owned environment is assumed, where utilities are independent and distributed across large distances, as in the Brazilian interconnected system case. Mathematical problems arising from Observability Analysis, State Estimation and Bad Data Processing will be addressed in this new context. The main objective of this research project is to address the construction of real-time models in a more reliable, precise and secure way, adapted to the current decentralized management observed in modern Power grids.
