Abstract This research, regarding the requested period of three months at the Università di Roma "La Sapienza", composes part of a larger project entitled "Fernando Pessoa: ironist." In his particular step, it is proposed to develop a conceptual analysis of the concept of "umorismo" as cultivated by Luigi Pirandello in the organization and in the constitution of his work, and draw parallels between it and the notion of "irony" in Fernando Pessoa. Our reading is based on the hypothesis that both writers are modern ironists. To this end, at this particular moment of the research, I intend to consult the studies about pirandellian humor, that are restricted to local consultation at the University mentioned. (AU) | |
