This project has an innovator and emergent character because presents the production and characterization of titanium dioxide nanoparticles-incorporated diamond-like carbon (DLC) films. The DLC films will be produced using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition technique and titanium dioxide nanoparticles will be incorporated in their bulk. Commercial biomedical alloys will be the substrates. The structural and morphological analysis will be performed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering spectroscopy. This project hopes to study the effects of nanoparticles in DLC structure in order to enable the use of DLC films in biomedical applications.
