Abstract

This study aims to characterize, to compare and to relate the performance in metalinguistic skills and reading of students with learning difficulty and learning disabilities and dylslexia aiming at establishing profile of the population studied. 80 students from 3rd grade to 5th grade of elementary school will be participating, both gender, aged between eight year-old and ten year-old and eleven months, dividing in three groups, GI (composed by 20 students with dyslexia), GII (composed by 20 students with learning disabilities), GIII (composed by 20 students with learning difficulty) and GIV (composed by 20 students with good reader academic). The students will be submitted to apply of metalinguistic skills and reading (PROHMELE). The results will be statistically analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, aiming to verify the differences among the groups for the variables of interest in tests of PROHMELE. The degree of relationship between metalinguistic skills and reading will be verified through the test of Spearman Correlation Analysis. (AU)
