Abstract

This research aims to establish appropriate procedures for image acquisition in order to determine particle size in a static reactor. For this purpose, will be prepared a mixture in laboratory and will be investigated the conditions such as appropriate dosage of coagulant, optimum pH for coagulation occurs, source and intensity of illumination and the image capture rate. Acquired images will be evaluated using specific software, to establish the appropriate binarization threshold and obtaining the appropriate features of interest for the determination of size through semi-automated procedures.
