Abstract

This project aims at the use of femtosecond lasers in the manufacture of polymeric systems in the micrometer scale, using the two-photon absorption polymerization technique. This device manufacturing method has shown to be an useful tool for the production of different types of structures, such as photonic crystals, mechanical microdevices, nanostructures, etc. In this project, our objetive is to produce microstructures that are optically and electrically active by doping the uncured resins with organic dyes and conjugated polymers, and by coating the microstructures with metals. Both methods will give the final microstructures interesting optical and electrical properties for applications in optoelectronic and photonic devices.
