Abstract

The great interest of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, both by modern philosophy as the new theories of psychology (and psychoanalysis) of his time, and of course, in dialogue with contemporary philosophers, shows how phenomenologist understand this philosophy, this is always something unfinished and constantly changing. Merleau-Ponty proposes to discuss new theories that could unite philosophy with the new discoveries in psychology, and to find new answers to old problems posed by philosophy, such as the Cartesian duality. Through a study of the book "Phenomenology of Perception (1945/2006)" authored by Merleau-Ponty, seek to understand the arguments used against classical psychology and against some modern philosophers such as Descartes, philosopher which Merleau-Ponty gave great attention and criticism of this author made him think and find their tacit cogito. By showing this argument and explain this phenomenological philosophy of Merleau-Ponty, we will seek to find the reasons for a theory of knowledge and how knowledge is given and its steps, starting from the first contact with something to be grasped before arriving at a true knowledge this something, if possible, knowledge really true, if that is possible, then we will make sure this will happen and how this knowledge, which are the main points to be addressed in this work. For those reasons we will discuss the explanation of what the philosopher understands to be the perception and the central role of this to human knowledge, the body and the role of the other and the world in our knowledge, because as always we are in the situation, ie, live in the world these (and the other world) should be part of us.
