Antitumor potential of salivary gland extract from Rhipicephalus sanguineus on morphophysiology cells of Walker 256 tumor in vitro cultures

Abstract

Ticks are ectoparasites that blood-sucking parasites in numerous groups of animals through the efficient production of saliva and ensure that its supply is able to modulate the immune system, inflammatory and homeostatic the host. Thus the salivary glands of ticks are organs that have been the subject of research especially in the identification and isolation of bioactive molecules with vasodilatory actions, anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive and anticoagulant. However, little is known of the response of morphophysiological cell when exposed to different agents, so this study will evaluate morphophysiological cells of Walker 256 tumor cell cultures in vitro after being exposed to the extract obtained from the salivary glands of female blood Rhipicephalus ticks fed for 2 days in hosts.
