Abstract

Brazil has one of the largest herds of cattle in the world. However, feeding these animals basically based pastures, which in conditions of cerrado, seasonal production in the fall/winter. Thus, the cycle of beef production becomes too long, degrading the quality of the final marketed product and income producer. The system that has yielded greater results in the requirements space utilization and improvement of soil quality is the Crop-Livestock Integration System (ILP), which combines the cultivation of grasses and grains in the same area, which can generate high-quality food for delivery in the fall/winter as silage. The aim of this work is to join the favorable characteristics of the ILP correct choice of intercropped species, in order to get a better quality silage, can bring benefits to both the production system and for the rancher. Thus, this research work will be installed in an area of Oxisol, belonging to the Faculdade de Engenharia/UNESP, Ilha Solteira-SP, Brazil, located in Selvíria - MS, in a non-irrigated area in the Cerrado. The experiment will be carried out by a consortium consisting of sorghum forage, with species of the genera Urochloa, Panicum and Cajanus, the system Crop-Livestock Integration in two harvest times, for the purpose of production of silage. In this sense, the project will evaluate: 1) The performance and quality bromatological produced in production systems intercropped with sorghum Urochloa brizantha. Palisade, Panicum maximum cv. Mombasa beans and pigeon pea in the first cut and regrowth at 90 days, 2) the components of production and forage productivity of consortia with sorghum and pigeon pea beans, as well as the chemical composition in the first cut and regrowth.
