Abstract

During the Master aimed to initially study the representation of blacks in textbooks intended for middle school. In the course of the research there was a need to understand the textbook into the production process of this editorial segment, as well as grasp the representation of black as a field of conflicts and disputes is not without controversy. Continuing efforts effected in the dissertation, this project aims to analyze how they have set up policies for valuing culture and history of Afro-Brazilian joint after the Unified Black Movement in 1978 which acted strongly to influence the Federal Constitution of 1988, First Charter who notes the importance of the contributions of different cultures and ethnicities to the formation of the Brazilian people in the teaching of History of Brazil - Art.242, § 1. If within the historiography topics as abolition and post-abolition - to a lesser extent - already count efforts representing the same analyzes are not found research that seeks to understand the politics of history and appreciation of black culture. The effort will be premised on understanding how they relate to the concerns of society to the political and academic research, thus emerging consonance and dissonance inherent in the development of public policies that aim to repair a segment of society. It is to understand official documents as policy instruments for developing social objectives, based on the theoretical approach of René Remond for Political History. In summary, aimed at understanding, through official documents and academic research, as has been manufactured worldviews, built paths, and directed the creation of values and cultural patterns and historical.
