Abstract

An experiment will be conducted in the Poultry Section of the State University of São Paulo "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (Unesp), School of Engineering Campus Ilha Solteira, in initial phase (1-21 days old), using a total of 240 male broiler chicks, one day old Cobb, being distributed in a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replicates of 12 birds per experimental plot, with the aim of evaluating the use of pepper seeds Piper cubeba, additive phytogenic as a substitute to antibiotic growth promoters in feed. In the experiment will evaluate the inclusion of Piper cubeba in low digestibility diet based on corn, soybean meal, wheat bran and animal products. Will be assessed the following parameters: growth performance (feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion), biochemical profile of blood, serum immunoglobulin, analysis of the biometrics of the digestive tract, intestinal morphology and assessment of digestibility trial. The variables will be submitted to variance analysis and in case of statistical significance the means are compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. (AU)
