Abstract The allelopathy is usually defined as any process involving the production of secondary metabolites by plants and / or microorganisms that influence the development of biological systems. There is a great variety of compounds with this type of activity, their production being altered by environmental factors. This project aims to evaluate the phytotoxicity of aqueous extract of leaves of five species of the Cerrado (Qualea cordata, Luehea candicans, Gochnatia polymorpha, Miconia chamissois and Byrsonima intermedia), collected in different seasons (dry and rainy seasons), on germination and initial development of a monocot, Zea mays L. (corn), and a eudicot, Cucumis sativus L. (cucumber). Phytochemical analysis will also be conducted to determine the main chemical classes of secondary metabolites in plants in both seasons. | |
