Abstract

Rhizoctonia solani AG-1 IA is considered an important pathogen, which affects a wide range of host crops worldwide. In South America R. solani AG-1 IA causes sheath blight in rice; banded leaf and sheath blight of corn, soybean foliar blight and blight in cowpea. It is known that the pathogenicity of phytopathogenic fungi is primarily associated with plant cell wall degrading enzymes (PCWDE). These enzymes are represented by pectinases, xylanases, cellulases, amylases and cutinases. Knowing the dynamics and control of this pathogen are of most importance for the agricultural sector. Moreover, there is a great approach with respect to degradation of biomass for the production of biofuel. Thus, if R. solani AG-1 IA produced EDPCP with efficient in the hydrolysis of plant biomass, these may be used or associated with biotechnological processes and it aimed at producing a new product. On this basis, assays will be performed aiming at the production of PCWDE, mainly xylanase, cellulase and pectinase from R. solani AG-1 IA isolated from different hosts in the extracellular medium. Industrial residues will be adopted as a carbon source for induction of these enzymes. The enzymes that are identified as potential to production and biotechnological application, it will be characterized and purified. It is also proposed, the sequencing of these enzymes, in order to have information of nucleotide sequences in different hosts. Thus, if there is possible to correlate molecular differences between the enzymes produced by R. solani AG 1-AI and if these different hosts exhibit different molecular structure when compared to other microbial enzymes, available in data basis.
