Alpha-2-agonists are sedative used in clinical routine ruminants, and have, among others, the advantage of owning their own antagonists, which increase the safety of these drugs. This study proposes to evaluate hemodynamics parameters in this species. For this, 40 Santa Inês sheep, males, aged between one and three years divided into two groups of 20 animals studied prospectively, "blind" and random, being designated as GXLZ (xylazine 0 will be used, 2 mg / kg IM) and DEXG (dexmedetomidine hydrochloride 15ug / kg IM). Each animal will control himself, and for that, the animals will be induced to anesthesia by face mask with isoflurane, intubated and maintained under anesthesia with the same agent for instrumentation will consist of the pulmonary artery catheter installation. After complete recovery from anesthesia will be assessed hemodynamic and respiratory parameters during the first 60 minutes at intervals of 15 minutes in the standing position, to obtain baseline hemodynamic parameters. Completed this assessment, the animals will be subjected to sedation protocols according to their group. The parameters will be checked and recorded every 15 minutes, and continue the same way after the application of atipamezole until complete reversal of alpha 2 agonist. Rate and heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic, and mean hemodynamic evaluation, respiratory rate, arterial blood gas analysis, rectal temperature, and blood glucose level of sedation will be evaluated.
