Annexations of the real to the scene: materiality, spatiality and liminality staging in contemporary Latin American

Abstract

The goal of this project BEPE/FAPESP in UNAL (Universidad Nacional de Colombia) Bogota is the investigation of procedures for creating the contemporary Latin American staging processes generated from the annexation of real data to the scene. From artists of Latin America attempts to analyze the correlations and the motivations that made it possible in their poetic. It is intended to recognize the extent to which the experience of the real affects the theatrical phenomenon, and how the experiment with reality as aesthetic action, reconfigures an artistic event. The study on the practices of the real in the Latin American theater will take place from the research of Rolf Abderhalden, coordinator of the master's degree program of Alive Arts in UNAL, and also based on the repertoire of groups like La Otra Orilla (Peru), Mapa Teatro (Colombia) and El Periferico de Objetos (Argentina). This research will focus on the theoretical and practical research linked to materiality, spatiality and liminality present in artistic works of directors as Emilio García Wehbi in "El Matadero", Carlos Cueva in "Zona Fronteriza", Heidi and Rolf Abderhalden in "Proyecto Prometeo".
