Abstract

The use of animal byproducts in feed have been widely discussed today. In part this has been due to insecurity consumer after the outbreaks of "mad cow" and the problems of products contamination. Allied to this, religious and cultural influences of different markets buyers of chicken dictate trends regarding the production and products consume such as, for example, green or alternative chicken, thus without the animal by-products origin inclusion in its feed. In this context, the aim of this study is to make sure no animal byproducts in the feed of broilers trade, through the carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes technique(´13C and ´15N) in the pectoral muscle, as well make a isotopic signals data bank of the feed ingredients of most interest in the poultry industry. The broilers farms will be chosen randomly within the São Paulo State. The sampling will be done weekly, where they will remove randomly eight birds from each sampled farm. At the same time will be collected three random samples of feed, acquired from inside the shed. For the database will be sampled ingredients of most interest to poultry production from ingredients receiving and quality control departments in animal feed factories. The isotopic analyzes will be conducted at the Stable Isotopes Center, Institute of Biosciences, UNESP - Botucatu. The isotopic data of the pectoral muscle and feed ingredients will be submitted to principal component analysis.
