Phytogenic, mono and DIGLYCERIDES associated with organic acids in diets of NEWLY-WEANED piglets

Abstract

The project will aim to evaluate the effect of using phytogenic (essential oils and bioflavonoids), mono and diglycerides associated with organic acids in the diet of pigs from 21 to 63 days of age on performance, incidence of diarrhea, transit time, characteristics morphological and microbiological in gastrointestinal tract (pH and concentration of short chain fatty acids, mitosis and apoptosis of intestinal cells, structure and microbiology of the small intestine). Will be used 160 pigs and distributed in accordance with the experimental diets: Positive control: diet with antimicrobial in the first phase (21 to 35 days); Negative control : antibiotic-free diet; OA+EO: negative control with the addition of organic acids (formic and lactic acid) and essential oils; OA+BioF: negative control with the addition of organic acids (formic and propionic acid) and bioflafanoids; Gly: negative control with the addition of mono and diglycerides of butyric acid. The animals will be distributed in a randomized complete block design with 5 treatments, 8 replicates and 4 animals per experimental unit. The assumptions for the analysis of variance will be analyzed, using the test of Cramer-von Mises normality of the errors and the averages will compared by the method of multiple comparisons at 5% probability. The analysis will be performed by the statistical program SAS 9.2 model. (AU)
