Abstract

The monitoring of water quality is the systematic verification of qualitative and quantitative aspects of water in order to obtain information that is intended for the scientific community, the general public and especially the various decision-making bodies. In this sense, monitoring is one of the determining factors in the management of water resources, since that provides a systematic and integrated perception of environmental reality. This research proposes the limnological monitoring through quarterly sampling over a full seasonal cycle in surface sampling in eight sections environments Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (PRNP) "Foz do Rio Aguapeí". Limnological variables to be sampled in the field will be the dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrate (NO3-N), water temperature (T), turbidity (Turb) and ammonia-N (N-NH4) These variables will be sampled through a parametric brand Multiprobe Model Hanna HI9829. In laboratory protocols are certain variables chlorophyll a according to Golterman et al. (1978), total suspended solids according to Wetzel & Likens (1991), dissolved phosphorus, soluble reactive phosphorus and total phosphorus according to (MACKERETH et al., 1978) and Kjeldahl nitrogen will be measured according to the methodology described in APHA (2005). Monitoring results will be tabulated and principal component analysis (PCA) (see GAUCH, 1994) will be applied in order to reduce the dimensionality of the data and evaluate standards in order regarding the different environments (lentic and lotic environments, and finally the different sampling periods. values of limnological parameters, except pH, are log-transformed (base ten), to linearize the relationships and reduce the effect of high values. To assess the axes to be retained for interpretation will be used model "broken-stick" (JACKSON, 1993). expected to verify the results allow the oscillations presented by aquatic environments face of natural and anthropogenic changes in time and space.
