Abstract

The Gilles Deleuze research during the eighties focuses on the reading of the German thinker of the 17th century, G. W. Leibniz. In 1988 he publishes Le Pli, which forms part of the series of their works about the modern philosophy. However, this book shows furthermore the Deleuze's attention regarding the interpretations concerning the contemporary commentators of the modern philosophy, in this case of Leibniz. In this context, a dialogue with Christiane Frémont, French commentator and translator of Leibniz, begin. It is worth considering the brief and important dialogue between them about their respective interpretations on Leibniz. This research intends to give an account of the main topics present in that conversation. Firstly, we can say that these topics involve 1) the problem of body and the Leibnizian vinculum substantiale, 2) the question of singularities and 3) the principle of economy and the incompossibility. Furthermore, we must add 4) the concept of vice-diction whose complex architecture and genesis we expect to explain along the different references in Deleuze and Frémont. Our hypothesis in this study is the readings made by both authors about the German thinker are mutually involved. In this sense, the clarification of concepts such as vice-diction can be made through the study of this involvement. It is essential, in order to support this hypothesis, to precise the demarcations of relations between such readings. For this reason, our research will focus on the Frémont's study Singularités, individus et relations dans le système de Leibniz (2003) and Deleuze's works Différence et répétition (1968) and Le Pli (1988) in order to determine the major topics that emerge in the relationship. Also, we shall specify, in each case, the convergences and divergences of interpretation. (AU)
