Abstract

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) aims to classify functioning and disability related to the health condition of the individual in the components of Body function and Structure, Activity and Participation. The ICF is not an assessment tool and its use depends on its correlation with other existing measurement tools, such as questionnaires. Considering the current Brazilian scenario of use gradual and in growing of ICF, it is important to check how the professional health care recognizes the ICF in their standardized assessments. Therefore, the aim of this study is to verify if the professionals who work with upper limb can identify CIF domains in questionnaires commonly used as The Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI-Brazil) and The Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) considering the different levels of familiarity with the CIF. Therefore, 20 evaluators, 4 of them with domain in CIF, will judge the relationship of each item of the DASH and SPADI questionnaires with the three domains of the ICF, considering only their prior knowledge about the ICF. The evaluations will result in weight values of the judgment which will be used for statistical analysis by the method of Discriminant Content Validity (DCV) that will use the Student t test to rate the items in the three domains of the ICF.
