Abstract

The development of the Internet and the variety of services available have greatly increased in recent years. This has raised the need for greater openness and flexibility of network equipment. The current routers implement an architecture composed of a layer of closed software, which runs on proprietary hardware. This model results in solutions costly and difficult to insert new features, and do not allow experimentation with new ideas. The progress of standardization of the OpenFlow protocol to perform the forwarding plane of the network equipment package has spurred the first great WANs that use the network paradigm programmed by software. Likewise, online services, such as services provided by service oriented architectures (Web Services), increasingly require guarantees of quality of service (QoS). This project proposes methods and techniques for ensuring QoS in Web Services based architectures using OpenFlow networks. (AU)
