The uniqueness of hospital organizations has been highlighted by the need for new skills for professionals who are faced with changes in technology and demands of its clients, causing changes in their work process, requiring a worker professional profile differentiated so that they can be suited to new technologies and to shared work aiming quality care. In this context, education of health professionals, especially the nurses, deserves special attention, in order to enable them to operate in a rapidly changing sector, which must reconcile the personal development needs with those necessary for the effective performance of their job. The nurse, while responsible for the care management, must adopt strategies of continuing education for the effective organization of care in oncology units that will impact the quality of nursing care provided to the client. This study aims to identify the strategies for continuing education developed by nurses in hospital oncology units. This is an exploratory study with a qualitative approach, with the methodological design of the multiple case study. This research will be conducted in Oncology Units of Teaching Hospitals and the population will be these units' nurses. To collect the data we use direct observation, structured, semi-structured interviews and non-participant. Data analysis will be performed using the method of analysis of thematic content. This study shall display the striking constraints and facilitations within the team and the teaching strategies updated by nurses in this sector. (AU)
