Abstract

The aim of this project is the development of overseas research at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), located in Adelaide, Australia, through BEPE- Post Doctoral for a period of 10 months. This proposal complements the post doctoral research developing entitled: "Influence of submarine outfalls in occurrence of phenolic emerging micro contaminants at São Paulo State coast" (Process FAPESP 2012/17898-7). The Australian research group has been developed important studies in endocrine disruptors monitoring at environmental matrices, mainly those analytes proposed in the post doctoral project. However, the bioavailability study of some of these compounds it is new for both institutions involved. Since bioavailability study is possible to verify the environmental risk associated with the presence of these compounds in marine environment, as well as verify the distribution pattern associated with the partition coefficient (Kd) in sediments. Thus, the present study propose the bioavailability assessment of two important organic micro contaminants: the antimicrobial Triclosan and the synthetic hormone 17± ethinylestradiol (EE2), which are xenoestrogens of great interest in ecotoxicology and for both research groups involved in this proposal: CSIRO of Australia and the Group of Studies in Environmental Health and Organic Contaminants (GRESCO) in Brazil.
