Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is an infection cosmopolitan with a small percentage of individuals by developing the clinical form. Constitutes a serious public health problem especially in women who have had no previous contact with Toxoplasma gondii in seropositive individuals who develop eye disease and others who have acquired some kind of immunosuppression. The aim of this project is to evaluate the use of serological methods, molecular and images in monitoring acute or acute deterioration of ocular toxoplasmosis. Specific objectives include: 1. select at least 10 consecutive patients attending the Outpatient-tively retinopathy eye injury with acute and/or reactivation of ocular injury resulting from infection by T. gondii 2. Identify classes of anti-T. gondii in patients with typical clinical ocular toxoplasmosis or acute flare-up 3. Identify the presence of genomic DNA of T. gondii in peripheral blood 4. Perform imaging examinations (fundus photography and OCT) 5. Evaluate the use of fundus photography and OCT during the healing process of the eye injury. 6. Compare the progress of healing with the results of serological analysis, and molecular images. Will be monitored for a period of one year, 10 patients in the Outpatient Hospital Retinopathy basic eye injury that present active/recurrent ocular toxoplasmosis. Will be correlated laboratory tests (serology and PCR), images (fundus photography and OCT) and clinical evaluation in order to establish a relationship with the evolution of the healing process of the eye injury. The data will be compared using Fisher's exact test or the chi-square test (if applicable) and t test (for continuous variables). Also, be calculated Odds Ratio values and confidence interval of 95%. The alpha value to be adopted is 5%. It is hoped that the results pos-sam contribute to the knowledge of the use of imaging tests in confirming the healing of eye injury by T. gondii. (AU)
