Abstract

This project intends to study the improvised solos of the brazilian saxophonist Victor Assis Brasil. The study is going to happen in two related levels: pratical, through the reproduction with the instrument (saxophone) and transcription; and theoric, through the analisys of the transcription. The analisys aims to find recurrent structures and musical elements that point to a particular improvisational language - from the fusion of jazz and brazilian music - in the Victor Assis Brasil solos.
