Abstract

Intermittent stretching and eccentric training are often used in physical therapy practice after musculoskeletal disorders, including in children. This study aims to assess the contractile properties (peak contraction, time to peak contraction and half-relaxation time) of the soleus muscle of weanling rats immobilized and rehabilitated following protocols of free movement in the cage, eccentric training and intermittent stretching during a period of 3, 7 and 10 days. The functional test will be performed after periods of stretching, eccentric training and free movement in the cage. The results of this study will be added with that morphological data from muscle and functional gait analysis already collected, which will increase scientific information regarding infant tissue adaptations.
