Abstract

The research investigate the representations of university students about love and conflict in loving that feeling is involved, considering a gender and types of emotional-sexual relationships. We start from the idea of organizing model as a source of mental representations emerging narratives about everyday conflicts. For this, we applied questionnaires that deal with the theme focusing on love or vicarious experiences of 150 university students (18-24 years) in three different groups of sexual orientation (heterosexual, gay and lesbian), distributed as follows guidance affective sexual and gender / sex: 50 heterosexuals (25 men and 25 women), 50 gays (men), 50 lesbians (women). The analysis is guided by the definition of the organizing model, emphasizing its components: the elements abstracted and retained as significant, the meanings attributed to the elements and the implications and / or relationships between elements and meanings. Will organize the data according to the content of the questions and also establishes relationships between different groups of affective and sexual orientation (heterosexual, gay and lesbian) and gender category (men and women). Thus, we work in a qualitative aspect, in which the units of analysis and their grouping emerge from the answers and are not previous, and quantitative aspects (frequency) of several models of conflict situations and loving its attendant meanings about love.
