Abstract

Concern for the environment has resulted in research of various biodegradable vegetable oils as it was done before the discovery of oil. The first difference in vegetable oils is the amount of saturated and unsaturated acids present in its structure and degree of saturation of their molecules. The degree of unsaturation affects the stability to oxidation properties at low and high temperatures, and most vegetable oils have rapid breaking of the molecules to temperatures above 1500 C. This work adds a contribution to the studies of substitution of mineral lubricants. Initially, it will be studied two oils of vegetable origin as oxidation and performance through testing of aging methods, wear, viscosities, RPD, quantity of magnetic particles, flash point and ferrography. In thei work Antioxidant additive will be inserted. In future work it will be inserted anti-wear additives, extreme pressure, etc. In the wear tests, the pins and discs will be similar to the materials of construction of internal combustion engines.
