Readings on drama in Fernando Pessoa's private library

Abstract

This research aims to explore some of the readings taken by Fernando Pessoa on the issue of drama, whose conceptualization is proposed at one of the blocks of the master dissertation "The theater of writing in Fernando Pessoa", object of a scholarship in the country. The research will examine 49 works previously selected in the private collection of the author, whose analysis allows to establish a partial itinerary of readings made by him concerning this topic, favoring a broader understanding of this writer's thinking. The stage also envisages the realization of a comprehensive survey of works that in some measure have already discussed the problem of drama in Pessoa's work, aiming to improve the reflections developed in the context of this dissertation. This survey will build on the achievements of the pessoan passive library of the Casa Fernando Pessoa, Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal and Instituto de Estudos Portugueses of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
