Abstract

The idiopathic autism is a disorder classified within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects the development psychoneurological and the ability to communicate, understand and speak thus affecting your social life. It is a disease even without genetic causes as well elucidated and pediatric of major concern, with increasing incidence. Currently, it is estimated that 1% of all school-age children in the United States have ASD, and its even higher incidence in boys, the order of one for every 55. In Brazil there are still no data on the incidence, only isolated publications. In this project we intend to study morphologically and functionally neurons derived from induced pluripotent cells (iPSC) from patients with idiopathic autism, featuring extensively these cells and comparing them with neurons of patients without autism.
