Abstract

Nowadays, is very important the recognition of fluvial systems operation, for a better water resources management and identification of impacts on the drainage basin. The aim of this work is to recognize in different sectors the varying morphologies of Aguapeí River channel and understand the spatial adjustment related to the influences of physical environment variables which composes the system. For this purpose, the survey of river longitudinal profile in association with channel morphologies in plan and the lithologies which submit structurally the drainage basin, will reveal the sectors considered relevant in terms of morphological changes. These sectors of fluvial system will be, thus, mapped. To reach this attempt, it will avail of analytical texts of Fluvial Geomorphology classical literature, cartographic bases, such as aerial photos, topographical maps of IBGE (1:50.000) and IGC-SP (1:10.000), as well current satellite images available in Google Earth©. With regard to recognize the geomorphology, geology and geological structure of basin, it will be gathered pre-existent maps data, furthermore, the association of all of these vectors to channel will be ascertain in its veracity from fieldworks in the area. The analyze of the results will be performed through the interpretation of quantitative data inherent to channel morphometry like sinuosity rate and spatial changes measurement of meanders. These data will be treated statistically together with the longitudinal profile. The quantitative analyses will be serve as a basis to identify the dynamic and processes which conduct to these changes and morphometric adjustments of channel and alluvial plain. Thus, the production and interpretation of thematic maps will permit an understanding of the variuos forms produced by the rivers and its dynamicity. (AU)
