Abstract

One of the most obvious problems with the urban environment and public health are manifested in urban centers is through the weather phenomenon, notably in the tropical world, through solar radiation, heat source characterized by thermodynamic processes. The way in which urban spaces have been produced (the complex process result from action and social agent's intervention in a changing landscape) ultimately enhance or mitigate the dynamic generation of a more or less adequate to environmental comfort, quality important indicator from life in urban space. Whereas it recent studies have demonstrated a significant increase in temperatures intraurbanas, thermal changes evidence are evident, although there is no consensus about the correlation between rising temperatures and the size of cities. Therefore, this project aims to identify and analyze the occurrence and differences thermo-hygrometric spatial distribution in the cities of Marilia/SP and São Carlos/SP, considering its different ways, structures and urban territorial expansions, resulting in differentiated spaces wherein the disadvantaged segments of the population become more vulnerable to its most negative effects. For both, studies will be conducted on urban aspects bibliographic (configuration structures and urban forms) and the cities of São Carlos and Marília, in addition to the use and occupation's aspects of land, and so associated, it is intended to measure hygrometric data and thermal characteristics and letter thermal interpretation (banda 6, Landsat 7) in urban spaces through mobile transects representing different urban spaces defined urban zoning and social exclusion map, as the building materials play an important role in thermal discomfort. The study will provide a comparative perspective between the two mid-sized cities, identifying the configuration and these thermal gradients magnitudes and demonstrating how urban climate, considered as a social product, also generates inequalities, increasing the segregated spaces.
