Detailed analysis of soil and seed bank in remaining forests of Rio das Pedras basin (Barão Geraldo-Campinas/SP) for purposes of measurement of environmental degradation

Abstract

The present work is a study area basin belonging to the Rio das Pedras Middle Tietê Basin, it is an important sub-basin Anhumas presenting itself as the most polluted and contaminated the municipality of Campinas (SP). For the study of a watershed and also in other works in various areas of knowledge, we need to establish environmental indicators degradation and sustainability. The indicators that will be used for quantification of environmental degradation in this work is a survey of soil and pedological analysis of the seed bank in forest remnants as well as in the areas of border contact with agricultural areas, grasslands and urban areas. The work will be conducted through surveys carried out directly in the field or in ravines cuts in existing different research sites is that the chemical properties of the soil will be analyzed in laboratory, the soil samples for the seed bank will be collected through a ring metallic, and in the laboratory the study will be carried out by the method of direct counting of seeds and germination of seedlings. The results will contribute to the establishment of the proposed recovery of the study area and other forest remnants in similar conditions within the city of Campinas. (AU)
