FIBER SUGARCANE FOR HEAVY PIGS IN QUALITATIVE FOOD PROGRAM RESTRICTION

Abstract

The aim of this project to evaluate the level of whole sugar cane bagasse in the diet of finishing swine, in a qualitative feed restriction program. Will be conducted two experiments, where the first will determine the digestibility of nutrients and energy from sugar cane bagasse, using 20 animals receiving two diets, the basal diet with corn and soybean meal and basal diet with 30% inclusion of sugar cane bagasse. For the second experiment, will be used 50 male swine of the same lineage with 80 kg of live weight, which will receive five diets composed primarily of corn and soybean meal with inclusion of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% sugar cane bagasse, each treatment will consist of ten repetitions with one animal per experimental unit. Performance will be evaluated, passage rate, the weight of the gastrointestinal tract of animals, in addition, be certain carcass characteristics, meat quality and fatty acid profile of pigs. It will be also evaluated the potential environmental impact of the faeces, through the determination the production, characteristics and anaerobic digestion of faeces. And finally, will be the economic evaluation of the use of diets. In both experiments will be adopted in the design blocks. To evaluate the anaerobic digestion of faeces is assumed completely randomized design with five treatments and eight replications. The data will be submitted to analysis of variance using the GLM procedure of SAS statistical software 9.2.
