This study will aim to analyze the tension distribution in a single unit prosthesis supported by an external hexagon implant in the anterior maxillary region with different bone anchorages (conventional placement, bicorticalization anchorage, and sinus lift method). The methodology used will be 3-D finite element analysis. Using CT Scan processing software Invesalius (CTI, São Paulo, Brasil) and CAD software Rhinoceros 3D 4.0 (NURBS Modeling for Windows, USA) and SolidWorks 2011 (SolidWorks Corp, USA) three models will be confectioned, constituted by a bone block of the anterior maxillary area and one external hexagon implant of 4 x 10 mm (Conexão Sistema de Prótese, Ltda., São Paulo, Brasil) supporting a metal-ceramic crown. The process of region determination, restrictions set, mesh generation, and post-processing visualization will be made by software FEMAP v.10.2 (Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software Inc.USA) and the analysis processing will be made by software NeiNastran 10 (Noran Engineering, Inc., USA). The load applied will be 178N, at an angle of 0, 30, and 60 degrees. The results will be visualized by von Mises tension and maximum principal tension maps, with some individualization of interesting regions when necessary for correct evaluation of bone tension distribution or implant/abutment/crown internal distribution.
