Abstract

This research project aims to study different methodologies cycles of purification, filtering, and analysis of thin films involving polymeric materials, mixed with fullerenes, for applications in heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs) or similarly on LEDs (OLEDs). The analysis will be done since the formation of the polymer solution involving different solvents and morphological evaluation of the thin film formed on a substrate as quantitative measures involving roughness and thickness, transmittance, and absorbance, according to the different methods of purification and filtering processes adopted. Will produce devices whose functional characterization and extraction parameters are compared, taking as reference the material as received from the supplier in relation to the purified and/or filtered in order to evaluate whether there was an improvement in performance in electrical characteristics of the device. Additionally, the analysis is made for the transport of charge carriers in these devices based on the data obtained. Furthermore, there is the prospect that the methodologies and processes developed in this work are applied in other types of devices such as organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) and also sensors, electronic tongues (LE).
