The State from the social contract theory of Thomas Hobbes

Abstract

Man while remaining in its natural state is constantly at war, since there are no boundaries between freedoms and all get what they want by force, the sole purpose for man in this state is to fight for the preservation of his life and his goods. In this state of constant strife among men, where every man has the other as the enemy, suspecting everyone and willing to use all means to conserve their species and to maintain your property, you do not know what is peace or happiness, only if you have the knowledge of what war is. However, the man could not remain in this state of insecurity and instability for long time would know that to leave this state need to balance the mix of freedom they possess, in such dosage is achieved with the establishment of the social contract which govern the relation of men within the civil state.
