Among the nanostructured semiconductors, a class that has been much interest in recent years are the metallic sulphides such as ZnS, CdS, Ag2S and CuS, among others. Particularly, their optical, electrical, and magnetic properties strongly depend on the size of the nanoparticles, their shape and size distribution. In addition, these materials have a wide area of technological applications such as sensors, optical devices, catalysts, photodetectors and are extensively studied in fundamental research. However, for such applications, it is necessary a high degree of accuracy in the synthesis of this compound, in order to obtain: high purity, control over the shape, morphology, and particle formation of a monodisperse system. Therefore, the synthesis of nanoparticles with size distribution and homogeneous morphology is one of the most intriguing challenges of nanotechnology. The search for synthetic methods for low cost, sustainable and exhibiting good control over the structure of materials is intensely investigated by researchers. In this context, this design aims at achieving a new method of synthesizing nanocrystalline sulfides, based on the coupling of two theories already used and successful, the use of microwaves and synthesis at the interface of two solvents. Also be employed experimental techniques and theoretical simulations, in order to provide information about the structural arrangement and electronic systems. Thus, it is intended to prepare a theoretical / experimental about the influence of synthesis parameters on the photocatalytic and luminescent properties of these materials, the latter highly dependent on the structure of the material.
