Abstract

The dumping of textile effluents containing dyes causes a considerable environmental degradation, changing the natural color and foam forming on the water surface. Therefore, the detection and quantification of these compounds are very important. And a promising alternative is the development of biomimetic sensors with optical transduction, employing, as recognition system, molecularly printed polymers (MIPs). The advantage of this methodology is the good selectivity, sensitivity and stability of the MIP and low cost of the materials used. The present project proposes optimize the synthesis of MIPs and investigation of these polymers immobilized on the surface of bifurcated bundles of fiber optic for the development of sensors (or optodes) biomimetic aimed at the determination and quantification of triphenylmethane dyes, as Basic Red 9, in different matrices and industrial effluents. The proposal for immobilization of MIPs on the optical fiber surface will be throughpolymerization reaction in bulk directly into a bifurcated bundle of optical fibers. Optimization parameters for the MIP synthesis on optical fibers, as well as optimization parameters of the optodes response for the analyte will be evaluated. (AU)
