Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activities and antibiofilme, morphology and mechanical performance acrylic resin embedded with nanostructured silver vanadate (VPn). The antimicrobial action of silver vanadate nanostructured be evaluated against the following species: Candida albicans (ATCC 1023), Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 14990) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (CIM). The biofilm is formed on the specimens of acrylic resins (incorporated and non-incorporated with nanostructured silver vanadate), under aerobic or microaerophilic incubation at 37 º C for 48h. The analysis antibiofilme be performed using the test methods of reducing the tetrazolium salt XTT-and confocal laser microscopy. The MIC is determined by the level of metabolic activity of viable cells according to the method of XTT immediately after the biofilm formation (48 h) and after 14 days. Determined these concentrations will be held the physicochemical characterization of modified materials by X-ray microanalysis (EDS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The mechanical performance of the specimens with and without the addition (Control) of nanostructured silver vanadate (VPN) will be evaluated by bending tests, fracture resistance, surface hardness, surface roughness and impact resistance. The results will be statistically analyzed in Minitab software version 15.1.1.0, with normality and homogeneity tests for defining the use of parametric analysis or nonparametric.
