Abstract

The humic substances (HS) interacts with a broad range of compounds in the soil, including contaminants, which, currently, pesticides are the most agriculturally relevant for his defensive value to culture and the environment because they are emerging pollutants. Several studies with SH showed his performance as soil conditioners, metal complexing, among others. However, there are few studies that describe mechanisms of interaction between pesticides and SH as adsorption and degradation by non-biological pathway as well as their ecotoxicity. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the interaction of humic substances with three pesticides used in varieties of cane sugar - pyraclostrobin, carbofuran and diuron - and their ecotoxicity in test organisms (earthworms). It will be performed extraction, fractionation and purification of HS by adaptation of the method of IHSS. Subsequently, the extraction yield will be determined and ash content of the extract as well. Moreover, the total organic carbon will be analyzed by methods of the Ministry of Agriculture, TOC analyzer and elemental analysis. The extracts will be also characterized by spectroscopic methods such as UV-VIS and FTIR. However, the interactions between SH and pesticide will be determined by adsorption tests and following by degradation tests, including read after HPLC. Anyway, this study will analyze the comparative ecotoxicological effects of raw pesticides and its association with SH through acute toxicity tests with Eisenia foetida and Eisenia andrei.
