This research aims to develop furniture prototypes from sheets of reconstituted wood and plywood for home use and to apply sustainability concepts in product design and in prototypes production. This study assumes that it is necessary to develop furniture projects mixing virtual design, renewable resources, and production techniques with numerical control, applying sustainable design theories in the development and production of prototypes made of reconstituted wood or plywood. The process will consist of deep research aiming at the development of objects concepts and virtual design of furniture prototypes, for subsequent experimental production of these prototypes while the data obtained in the process is analyzed, allowing the reviewing and redesigning of prototypes developed in order to reach the final models, as well as the final report with complete description of all activities and results of the study.(AU)
