EFNOB Bauru, Km 0: administrative Employees Neighbourhood Residential Architecture

Abstract

The present study is part of a project entitled "EFNOB Bauru, Km 0: Residential Architecture", which is enclosed in a bigger project, named "EFNOB/Bauru, Km 0", Edict FAPESP/CONDEPHAAT n. 9/2011, Process n. 11/51014-6 and Process CONDEPHAAT n. 12/50041-2. The research objectives are to register, identify, select, localize, document, analyses, and propose safeguard guidelines for the residential architecture inheritance of the Neighborhood of Administrative Employees of EFNOB in Bauru. Methodology: a) documentary research: register, identity and document (historic, metric, iconographic, constructive system, finishing techniques, details) from primary sources the residential architecture inheritance of EFNOB; b) "in loco" work that consists in the register, identify and document (metric, photographic, constructive system, finishing techniques, and material conservation status) and locate the actual buildings of the residential architecture inheritance; c) redrawing in AutoCAD of projects related to the initial construction of residential buildings and the actual buildings projects containing performed interventions (amplifications, reforms or restoration); d) state of conservation analysis of buildings and materials or pathologies; e)proposed guidelines for the safeguard of the residential architecture inheritance of the Neighborhood of Administrative Employees of EFNOB. Results: With documentation: historic, metric, iconographic, finishing techniques and material conservation status of residential buildings from the extinct EFNOB in Bauru, it is intended: I) assist in the process of protection regulation of EFNOB patrimony, by the state's body CONDEPHAAT (a process of protection already in progress), and national's IPHAN; II) give a conceptual and documental basis for study and projects proposals relating to restoration and rehabilitation of EFNOB buildings; III) contribute with studies approaching the employees' residences of the Companhias de Estrada de Ferro; IV) protection of conservation areas along with the Master Plan of the city of Bauru; V) proposal of safeguard guidelines for the railway residential architecture inheritance.(AU)
