Quality of life of elderly people in literacy process

Abstract

Studies point to the importance of education, considered the basis for the full exercise of all human rights, that must be linked to all stages of life. With the aging population, the education programs for youth and adults now have a considerable number of people over 60 years. The objective of this study is to analyze the quality of life of people over 60 years old who attend these educational programs and relate to variables - sex, age, duration of program participation, and depressive symptoms. This is cross-sectional research, nature of descriptive and analytical, using the quantitative investigation method. Will be conducted individual interviews with people over 60 years attending the EJA. Will be used as tools for data collection the WHOQOL-BREF and the WHOQOL-old, the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), and an instrument of sociodemographic characteristics. The data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlational. All ethical guidelines will be observed during the process of collecting and analyzing data. This project will strengthen the research line "Idoso e Família", of Research Group "Saúde e Envelhecimento", led by guiding this project.(AU)
