CROSS-CULTURAL ADAPTATION AND VALIDATION OF CONTENT OF NURSING FAMILY PARTNERSHIP TO BRAZIL

Abstract

Neuroscience and behavioral sciences have proven that an inadequate care of children in the first two years of life can result in emotional and physical injury. The Family Nursing Partnership (FNP) is a preventive program directed to pregnant teenager, in her first pregnance, in England. This research aims to subsidize the implementation of Family Nursing Partnership in São Paulo. This is methodological study that will be developed in two stages: a cross-cultural adaptation of the FNP program guideline for the Portuguese language and content validation of the adapted version. Cross-cultural adaptation of the guidelines will be conducted in three phases: translation of the FNP guidelines, from the original language (English) into Portuguese, the back-translation of the instrument translated from the original language, and application of the Delphi technique with a panel of experts in child development. Each specialist will perform evaluation and comparison of the three version of guidelines (original, version 1 and 2) in order to obtain a consensus of cultural adaptation on the translated versions. The content validation will be evaluated by applying the focus group technique. The analysis of qualitative data resulting from focus group will be conducted by content analysis and quantitative data resulting from the Delphi technique will be subjected to statistical analysis by using the program Minitab Statistical Software (Minitab), version 12.22.
