Abstract

Introduction: In women, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels represent the ovarian reserve. On the other hand, in man, AMH have clinical application in disorders of sex development and in differential diagnostic between constitutional delay of puberty and isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Aims: To validate the enzyme immunoassay AMH Gen II (Beckman Coulter Company, TX, USA) for AMH serum detection, to establish normal reference values in Brazilian women and men, to establish cut-off values for normal ovarian reserve, and evaluate the AMH clinical applicability on the following endocrine disorders: pubertal delay, isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, sex development disorders, turner syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome and premature ovarian failure. Methods: The enzyme immunoassay AMH Gen II (Beckman Coulter Company, TX, USA) will be validate following CLSI guidelines. To establish normal reference values in adults, blood samples of 100 health men and 100 health women with age between 18-50 years of HCFMUSP will be collected. Thirty patients with endocrine disorders previous cited will be selected to determine the AMH clinical applicability. The AMH normal reference values will be presented with descriptive statistical. The AMH values obtained in patients with endocrine disorders will be compared with normal individuals. The comparison between groups will be realized with student´s t-test or ANOVA to normal distribution data, and U Mann Whitney or Kruskal Wallis test to no-normal distribution data.
