Abstract

Immediate tooth replacement with dental implants was possible due to the evolution of surgical techniques, graft materials and prosthetic systems. The aim of this study is to evaluate the stability of the soft and hard tissue contour after immediate tooth replacement (ITR) in fresh extraction sockets grafted with Mucograft®, Bio-Oss Collagen® and Bio-Gide®. Thirty patients from the Araraquara Dental School that have thin gingival biotype and a failing maxillary pre-molar, canine or incisor that can receive an ITR will be selected to participate in this study. Patients will be randomized in three groups with 10 patients that will receive different graft materials: Control group: Bio-Oss Collagen® + Bio-Gide®; Connective tissue group - Bio-Oss Collagen® + subepithelial connective tissue graft; Mucograft group - Bio-Oss Collagen® + Bio-Gide® + Mucograft®. Clinical, tomographic and photographic analysis will be performed at the beginning of the study and after 6 and 12 months after surgical procedure. Clinical evalutation will be performed by the modified plaque index, gingival index, thickness and width of keratinized gingiva, gingival level, gingival biotype, marginal bleeding and bleeding on probing, also the position of the gingival margin, mesial and distal papilla will be digitally assessed. Tomographic exams will be performed in order to verify and measure bone and gingival tissue before and after the surgical procedure.
