This project aims to conduct a dialogue between the theories of the psychoanalysts Sigmund Freud and Lou Andreas-Salomé about the theme of femininity and female eroticism. The problematization of the feminine emerges in Freud's work from 1905, in Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, text in which he introduces the idea that there is an infantile sexuality, revealing quite controversial issues about the sexuality of boys and girls. Often considered conservative and even misogynist because of the primacy that the phallic element and masculinity assumed in his theory, Freud revises its position on the subject from 1923, influenced in part by the theories of Lou Andreas-Salomé. Throughout the 25 years that she studied and practiced psychoanalysis, Lou Salomé stands out as the major interlocutor of Freud and the Freudian metapsychology. Her questions focus mainly on the theme of female sexuality, love and the issues of narcissism and sexual difference.Given this background, this thesis aims to investigate thoroughly how it took the approach between the ideas of Freud and Lou Salomé, as well as the findings, reconstructions and reformulations that such contact allowed to develop a theory about femininity and female eroticism in the works of both authors, that enabled that, later, the discussion on this topic had more visibility in many areas of society.
