Oil and territory in Brazil

Abstract

The oil activity is a highly specialized productive chain, involves a set of complex and connected equipments and movements, which prints expressive forms on the territory and your organization. It is a very important activity to development of society, especially in economic, social and political issues. Still it is an activity that exerts a powerful influence on the areas where it is located, because your driving force, for example, on the labor and income situation, population dynamics and the land use, while at the same time, exerts a strong pressure on natural resources. Even so we observe the expansion of Brazilian oil reserves, because the recent findings of the pre-salt layer. This research intends to systematize and analyze the oil production chain, considering the importance to production and organization of the territory, identifying the set of objects, systems and flows related to the actions of the productive chain. Besides that, we intend to evaluate how the activity is structured to serve the current needs of production and consumption and to the projections about national demand for energy. The work development will have an extensive stage of literature search and collect data, which will involve the consolidation of the theoretical and methodological basis, survey studies and scientific publications of interest to the research topic, collecting data from institutions and companies linked to the oil activity, and field survey. The nest stage will be set the systematization and organization of data and information, spatial analysis, to reach to the final products, consisting of the set of maps and charts and the final text of the thesis.
