Abstract: The Stage Research and PhD abroad in the period from March to June of 2013 has as main objective to understand the influence and participation of Protestant Americans on issues about anti-Catholicism in Brazil during the Vargas Era. The work will be performed principally at bibliographic and documentary collection of The University of Texas at Austin (Latin American Collection, Harry Ransom Center Book Collection, Library Storage, Briscoe Center for American History); Baylor Universty (The Texas Collection-The Luther-Bagby-Smith Family), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in A. Webb Roberts Library, Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives in the Collection; General Commission on Archives & History - The United Methodist Church. We will also research at the National Archives of the Episcopal Church and at the Austin Presbyterian Seminary. We will have as advisor the Prof. Virginia Garrard-Burnett Ph.D., at the Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin. (AU)
